Description
Duke Ellington & His Orchestra accompanies Ethel Waters as she
sings a great rendition of "I Can't Give You Anything But Love" on
78rpm Brunswick 6517.
It sounds (to me) like as part of Ethel's vocal, she does an imitation of
Louis Armstrong's voice.
This was a New York recording of December 22, 1932.
On the reverse side, recorded a week later, Don Redman & His
Orchestra provides the accompaniment to the Mills Brothers and Cab
Calloway as they sing "Doin' The New Low Down."
The record is in excellent-plus (E+) condition on the first side, and
excellent to excellent-plus (E to E+) condition on the reverse.
