Etta James - At Last!
Original 1961 US MONO Pressing - teal, deep-groove Argo label (not a reissue on Cadet)
Record Grade: G+ The record does show graying/groovewear throughout, as well as numerous spindle marks on each label. However, it is not too scratched up, with just some light marks scattered about. A full test play revealed the record still sounds quite nice. It did not skip or stick once. There was some surface noise and static/distortion. As is common, the static/distortion was more pronounced on the innermost grooves than the outermost grooves. Overall, it is a very decent playing copy and an enjoyable listen. Not "audiophile," but by no means trashed.
The record has been cleaned (using the Spin Clean) and placed in a new acid-free paper sleeve.
Jacket Grade: F The top and bottom seams are completely split. There is also tape residue along the bottom seam and disc opening both front and back (it appears the previous owner converted this to a top-loader when the seams went). The spine is still intact and legible. Aside from the tape residue, the front cover photo still displays rather well.
