Extract from the Record Collector Magazine: -

When it comes to collectable 60s labels, Planet is near to the top.  Between 1965 and '66, it released a mere 22 singles and two albums, offering a small but delicious catalogue to collect - all with eye catching sleeves and labels.

Planet also issued one of the more unusual 7" singles of the 60s, recorded by a certain Eugene B Ferris, owner and manager of the 50-room Lockerbie House Hotel that "stands in 80 acres of delighfully wooded grounds and lays one mile from the town of Lockerbie".

Unusually, however, the single was issued in a picture sleeve that featured an illustration of "the singing hotelier" and his hotel on the front.

One of the stories as to how this record entered Planet's orbit is that the labels's co manager Shel talmy (or possible the booking agent Arthur Howes) and some of the Planet roster stayed at the hotel when on tour, during which time a recording deal was struck.
