Description
We are thrilled and honoured to be offering for sale a number of items from the late Stan Tracey's own personal collection on behalf of his son Clark Tracey. This includes many extremely rare albums, some purchased by Stan during his time in New York, plus test pressings and other gems collected over his lifetime as a musician and composer.
This is the very rare original 1st press copy of Evan Parker - Monoceros. Released in 1978 as a Direct Cut, this is an incredible example of Evan's free jazz improvisation.
Degritter cleaned, the vinyl is spotlessly clean with some very faint scuffs/discolouration marks on S1. Nothing remotely feelable and nothing that impacts on playback. We have graded EX.
The vinyl plays through as it should. This is clear, clean and tight sound with a very low noise floor thanks to the Direct Cut which eliminates tape hiss. Intoxicating stuff for lovers of Free Jazz.
The outer sleeve is clean and smooth with barely any creases. Some age discolouration and very slight squashing to spine but no writing, stains, tape or tears. A lovely copy.
The record was in a generic non original paper sleeve so we have replaced with a brand new poly lined inner sleeve to keep it pristine after cleaning.
A very rare opportunity to own an original 1st Press copy once owned by Stan Tracey.
The record will be sent separated out in an archival outer sleeve to prevent transit splits.
