Description

Expubidence Records (Exp. 010) 45 rpm single release from BILLIE HOLIDAY titled ONE FOR THE LADY.  Tracks are:  THAT OLE DEVIL CALLED LOVE / I'LL BE SEEING YOU.

The label states the recording was "Made 1949 at Bab's Party 4:30 A.M."   The label was associated with jazz vocalist BABS GONZALES.   The release has been documented on the various BILLIE HOLIDAY discography sites with several listing the actual 45 release date as 1970 but have seen others cite a 60's release.

It's a bit tough to grade as the original source recording is poor quality.  The sound is very hissy which is to be expected from a non-studio '49 apartment party recording.  The release serves as more an historical document for BILLIE HOLIDAY or Jazz collectors.  We'll call it VG+ condition as there are a few light sleeve marks but is clean overall with just the very slight hint of a dish.  The sound file is from the offered 45 tracked at two grams.
