Description

An amazing, unique item - unreleased two-sided 33rpm 7" acetate from 1969 with a total playing time of twenty minutes!  This was pressed in 1969 by the owners of Homegrown Music to hawk around record companies in the hope of securing a recording contract for their two bands, Factory and Iron Prophet (subsequently renamed Five Day Rain).  It consists of extracts from ten songs that had been recorded at IBC Studios by the two bands.  Full versions of four of the Factory tracks (Path Through The Forest, Gone, Try A Little Sunshine, Red Chalk Hill) did gain a release, but the other six tracks - including all four Iron Prophet recordings - didn't.  Indeed, the Iron Prophet recordings are completely lost, and didn't even appear on the Five Day Rain CD.  This one-off acetate is the only way in which they have survived.  

Acetate is in excellent condition.  Please note that it contains extracts (ranging from 1 minute 30 seconds to 2 minutes 10 seconds) from the songs rather than the full-length versions, although the brilliant 'Goodbye Miss Elizabeth' - still unreleased nearly fifty years later! - is close to three minutes long and is clearly a lost UK psych classic!
