Description
A unique example of this influential album by Fairport Convention is an original UK 1st edition. Pressed by Orlake Records (as denoted by the matrix) in 1969, this rare version is also known as the ‘rough texture label’. What makes this original is that, during the production process, it’s ended up with the same side one label on both sides of the vinyl. Someone, I presume the first owner, has written a small ‘2’ on the label of the correct side 2. Pressing is correct for both sides. Condition - Sleeve is Ex with a couple of slight scuffs on the edges. Vinyl is VG+ with no scratches and very slight and occasional background noise (many would grade this as Ex) which doesn’t detract from the listening experience. The labels are VG+ - only because the labels on the Orlake pressing all look a bit grubby (hence the ‘rough texture label’ name for this particular version). I’ve cleaned this on a professional Pro-Ject record cleaner and just played it on my Clearaudio Concept turntable. Sound is excellent with occasional background noise in the quieter moments. No scratches. Matrix Side 1 - ILPS 9115 * A//1 17 Matrix Side 2 - ILPS 9115 * //1 B 1 9 1 2C I Postage is for UK Tracked 48. If you’re outside of the UK, please contact me before bidding/buying. Many thanks for looking.
