Description

Hello- I'm Bill, and over the next few weeks I'll be selling off my treasured record collection, a course of action forced on me by an imminent move and enforced retirement. I've collected music all my adult life, and will be sad to see it all go . My tastes have varied over the years, as you'll see, but folk and rock have been the backbone of my collection.Over the next few weeks there will be some rarities appearing, believe me! All records will be in at least EX condition, and a lot of NM's too. I'm loathe to use NM, once it's played, it's played, but I try to stick to the RC guidelines, even if my grading is too severe! All records are inspected under a good light, and none are cleaned, only brushed. I know everyone has their own favourite cleaning methods, so why deprive you of the pleasure?

Now back after a longer than expected hospitalisation and recovery, I’m fit and back on course. Many apologies to those of you who have been waiting to see what comes next. Hopefully this weekend’s offerings will satisfy!......Bill.

Continuing my Fairport Convention offerings, here is a remarkable copy of their album “What we did on our holidays”, on the Island label with the “eye” logo. This is a true first pressing! “Holidays” is Fairport at their best, with Martin Lamble and Alexandra Elene MacLean ( Sandy to you ) Denny .

This is probably as good a copy as still exists. The cover, by Diogenic Attempts Ltd, has only a tiny amount of lamination lift, tiny corner wear, and is clean and shiny. And it’s very nearly 40 years old! ( I wish I was! )

The vinyl is clean and crisp, with hardly a blemish. Just a couple of light scuff marks. Well- it has been out of the sleeve! It plays superbly. As I play these, I just know I’ll regret selling all my Fairport.
