1968/UK/Polydor  583 033…….here’s a rare original UK pressing of their awesome 1st lp. The laminated cover is in super clean glossy VG condition with virtually no wear, there are several very light small creases in the bottom left corner, and the laminate is lifted there, a couple of larger creases near the lower right corner with light laminate lifting, top right corner is lightly bumped and very slight laminate lifting on that corner, top right corner has slight wear, the back cover shows the same as the front and has some light individual creases running along the opening edge, there is also laminate lifting along the spine side both front and back, there are no splits or other issues and the cover is real shiny as it was stored in an outer bag since new, looks nice! The vinyl is in shiny excellent to M- condition, other than a patch of super light near invisible and inaudible inner sleeve scuffs and a handful of super light inaudible hairlines this record is gorgeous. I have played it from start to finish with great pleasure, the record plays clean with only the odd spot of very light passive noise in the background and there is nothing repetitive, loud or distracting and plays with excellent fidelity! I don’t think this record was played more than a couple of times as the labels are clean and one label shows one very light spindle mark. This is a nice copy for your collection!

There are some light reflections on the picture mainly in the bottom right corner due to the camera flash. Please check my auctions for other folk, rock, and psych lp’s, good luck and thanks for looking!

By far the most rock-oriented of Fairport Convention's early albums, this debut was recorded before Sandy Denny joined the band (Judy Dyble handles the female vocals). Unjustly overlooked by listeners who consider the band's pre-Denny output insignificant, this is a fine folk-rock effort that takes far more inspiration from West Coast '60s sounds than traditional British folk. Fairport's chief strengths at this early juncture were the group's interpretations, particularly in the harmony vocals.

MINT: as stated with no defects

NEAR MINT: as stated near Mint!, or Mint Minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean

EXCELLENT: not much below near Mint, may have a delete hole and/or a minor defect or two not visually detracting from the cover, the vinyl will appear shiny and in clean condition with very minor defects not affecting the sound, still very clean and very collectable!

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear and/or delete/splits, still visually appealing, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much

VG+ a little more cover/ring wear and delete, splits etc., the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects, both cover and vinyl no matter the condition, I also play grade the records on high end equipment and will give an honest play grade as well as visual grade, considering the number of records I buy on line my grading is very conservative and fair.
