Another rare album in the Parlophone Voix De L'Orient series.Again featuring a top Lebanese singer,Fairuz who has a very different style and appeal to the more traditional singer Sabah featured on the other Lebanese album on offer.The style and often the instrumentation is very much more secular and no doubt aimed at a much wider and also non Arabic audience.This is not really suprising as Beirut would have been a much more cosmopolitan city when this album was recorded.All the songs are arrangements of traditional Lebanese folk songs and sung in Arabic.Record is in near mint condition and shows little sign of play having a beautiful shine to the vinyl.Apart from the odd light dust click and occasional low level dust crackle the play is perfect throughout.Scarlet and silver Parlophone labels in mint condition with script in both English and Arabic.Graded as EX+.Cover is in excellent condition with no splits or tears and perfect lamination both back and front.Some very light ring wear visible but otherwise top condition and graded as EX+.Text to back of sleeve in both English and Arabic.Not dated but issued in the early 1960s.
