GRADING: I will use Jerry Osborne's 10 Point Grading System along with the Standard Mint to Good. In my opinion Osborne is by far the leading authority on records. If you can't find a listing in Goldmine, there is a 99% chance you will find it in Osborne's Rockin Records Guide.
It is as follows:
- 10 = Mint
- 9 = Near Mint
- 8 = Better Than Very Good but below Near Mint
- 7 = Very Good
- 6 = Better than good but below Very Good
- 5 = Good
- 4 = Better than Poor, but below Good
- 3 = Poor
- 2 = Really Trashed
- 1 = Don't Ask
I will not be selling anything below 5. It would have to be extremely rare for me to do so.
Record Grading Criteria:
- Sealed = Store New (10) (LP's Only)
- Mint = (10)
- Near Mint = Like new with only 1 or 2 insignificant defects. (9)
- Near Mint Minus = Would be near mint except for a couple of light marks or scuffs which do not affect play. (8)
- VG++ = Very nice record with all or nearly all of it's gloss but may have a few more light surface marks, scruffs or needle marks which do not affect play. (7)
- VG+ = Nice, but used record that may have a series of light scuffs or scratches and plays with a few pops but no serious problems (6)
- VG to VG- = A well-used record that sounds okay when played, but may have moderate surface noice, pops, but plays without skipping. (5)
