The Fabulous Volume 2
Blue Note BLP 1532 RARE '57 MONO unique "hybrid" pressing. Recorded at the Apex Studios, NYC, on September 13, 1948 (tracks A1 to A6), on October 11, 1948 (tracks B1, B4, B5) and at the WOR Studios, NYC, on August 9, 1949 (B2, B3).Etched "RVG", no Plastylite 'ear'. Side 1 run-on groove is 'beaded' edged. Side 2 run-on has 'flat' edge.
Deep grooved 767 Lexington Ave NYC labels.
From discogs:This is a very strange pressing, one of a kind in the Blue Note world. This has the first edition frame front cover with Lexington address. Both labels are 767 Lexington, deep groove, RVG etched. Side 1 clearly has a beaded rim and side 2 is flat. There is no plastylite P on either side. I’m not making this up. Theories are this was Blue Note trying a different pressing plant just once. This was most likely made at the same time as the flat edge frame cover with P pressing, but this will likely never be verified. A fellow expert that has this identical copy says his came with the original bordered envelope style inner sleeve, rarely seen and the correct inner sleeve for the pressing. This adds to the circumstantial evidence that this edition is a possible 1st pressing.
Jacket Grade VG Some wear to cover art. Age yellowing on back. Tiny 'nick' marks on front. Bottom corner small split.
Record Grade: EX Little to no visible play wear. Really Nice
