A remaster of the debut album by Stevenage goth rock legends Fields of Nephilim. Ill content to confirm to existing fashion parameters, the band blended western cowboy imagery with goth, seemingly inspired by Charles Bronson as they use Ennio Morricone's theme 'Man with the Harmonica' from the film Once Upon A Time In The West in the intro. For the most part, however, the cowboy influence is quite well hidden as the goth rock and post-punk feel, as singer Carl McCoy sounds like The Cure's Robert Smith if he'd been infected in the HBO series The Last Of Us. There's nods to Killing Joke, too and the craftsmanship with which the band sculpted each guitar line is indicative of astute gear heads who use studio trickery to enhance their roles as conduits to frightening otherworldly realms.
