Killer rare punk gem here. Nestling in nicely between bristling, energy-fueled back beat and sweet summer-vibe melody, this is a stunning little UK mod-influenced punker. The First Steps recorded two 7"s but 'The Beat Is Back' is easily the best feel-gooder they ever waxed. Killed By Death posted it up a while back if you need to hear the tracks. The title track also appeared on the Back To Front comp.
CONDITION OF VINYL: VERY GOOD +. I take grading very seriously, let me say first. Both sides of this 7" play crisply and nicely, with no clicks going in and out of the run in/off grooves. Side A has a few minor paper scuffs from removing the record from the paper inner but there is no evidence of needle/groove wear. There are a couple of 'hairline' marks but they do not sound in anyway. The sound production on my deck is great! Side B is of a similar calibre, with some minor light surface scuffing that does not affect play. I'd say that Side A would be a VG++, while Side B a VG averaging out at VG+! The labels are in fantastic shape, with no spindlemarks or any other blemishes. As I said I never knowlingly overgrade like so many ebay sellers, check my 100% feedback. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.
CONDITION OF SLEEVE: VERY GOOD+. The sleeve is comparable to the disc, a joy to behold. It has remained stiff and there are NO creases. The white paper has yellowed very slightly with age and the previous owner has written '1979' in ink on the top right hand corner. The sleeve has a beautiful 'embossed' effect on the text on the front while on the rear the writing in white is in relief. There is a little bit of discolouration on the side of the rear sleeve but I'm sure you can get rid of this with a common eraser. Over all this is a great single in great condition, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

I grade according to the Record Collector Price Guide 'Ready Reckoner' and almost NEVER sell anything which is below EXCELLENT condition. Rest assured that my EXCELLENT is bloody EXCELLENT! Oh yeah and I NEVER GRADE ANYTHING <B>MINT</B> THAT IS NOT SEALED!! Near Mint is the highest grading I use for unsealed records.
All records will be sent within two days MAXIMUM of receipt of payment (usually within 4/5 hours of payment received). Your record will be expertly packed in a professional brown mailer, using one or two stiffeners and housed in a PVC 12" sleeve with the record in a paper inner placed outside the sleeve as is standard practice. I've always been lucky when buying records from ebay (save the odd occasion) and would like all buyers of my records to be <b>100% SATISFIED!</b>
