Fish : Vigil In A Wilderness Of Mirrors A2 / B1 1st Press 1990 (Signed)

For this auction I am selling a number of Fish/Marillion records and the vast majority of them have been incredibly well preserved.  I am moving house soon and I want to 'shift' a lot of my stock quickly so unfortunately do not have the time to describe each track in detail as I generally do.  Rest assured I will still play every track in full so as to provide a 'complete' grading.  I will adhere to my usual standards :-)

This first pressing has been signed by Fish on the front cover and plays with stunning quality on both sides with barely any intrusion.  This record has hardly ever been played if at all.  The gatefold is also in fantastic shape and has a 'Manufacturers Property NOT FOR SALE' sticker on the back.  As per the first pressing 'A Gentleman's Excuse Me' is misprinted as 'A Gentleman's Excuse' on the back of the cover.

Visual grading

The vinyl is in lovely condition with no marks or scratches and only a small number of barely visible sleeve removal hairlines.  It has an immaculate glossy sheen and there is no spindle wear at all.  The S2 label is loose on the right side with a crease running down it which was no doubt caused during the pressing.

Play Grading

The classic 'Vigil In A Wilderness Of Mirrors' has barely any static on the quiet intro and proceeds in the same way with only a handful of minor light ticks.  The final section has a couple of static ticks but overall the sonic quality is so impressive.  'Big Wedge' is 'as new' and the final two tracks are of the same 'high end' standard also.

'A Gentleman's Excuse Me' has a little static on the intro and then plays with great clarity.  There are a small number of static ticks but overall the playback is so clean and precise.  The other three tracks, all classics in my opinion, play with exceptional quality with no intrusion whatsoever.  The clarity and power is as good as anything you will find today and 'Cliche' rounds off the album with outstanding audio.  As good as it was over 30 years ago! 

The 'Signed' Cover & Inner Sleeve

The signed cover with the 'Manufacturers Property NOT FOR SALE' sticker on the back is in superb condition with no obvious wear.  The edges and corners are so clean and the front just has one tiny barely visible mark and a couple of faint indents.  The plain white inner just has a small number of faint spots but no side splits or tears.
