Description

78 RPM 10" ACETATE in VG+ condition (just a few light marks not affecting play -- no cracks).

This is a 10" demo ACETATE (read more about acetates below)

This item is an acetate of the SRC 45 and 78 recording of "I'll Beg" and "Let Me Take You Out Tonight". What makes this even nicer is the personal writing on the label listing group member names and contact information. The ink is faded and the disc is obviously from the 1950s as you will see if you win it. This was almost certainly recorded at the same studio as the other SENSATION label 78s (John Lee Hooker, Todd Rhodes etc) in Ferndale, MI (near northwest Detroit). This recording sounds really close to the SRC label recording (Sensation Record Co).

The sound files have some blank spots. This is to protect the property of the auction winner.

ACETATES are plastic coated aluminum discs that were custom "cut" at the studio and used for demos or reference. They are meant for temporary use but will last well if stored well and played sparingly. Many of the most unique and rare moments in record collecting are recorded only on acetates
