First UK press matrices: A strange variant of this great blues album. Normally the vinyl has either etched OR machined matrices! This one has 7-63205-A-1 etched with also "KT" tax code etched but 7-63205B1 stamped on the other side. Furthermore it has one rough textured label and the other is a smooth style label. A variant which I think has not been documented before and very rare!!

Mr. Wonderful is the second album by the blues-rock band, Fleetwood Mac, released in 1968. Like their first album, this was an all-blues affair, but this time the band had made a few changes. The album was recorded live at CBS studios, London with miked amplifiers and PA system, rather than plugged into the board to give the record a fresh, immediate feel. They also added horns and featured a friend of the band on keyboards, Christine Perfect (later McVie) of Chicken Shack. Four of the songs, "Dust My Broom", "Doctor Brown", "Need Your Love Tonight" and "Coming Home", all begin with an identical Elmore James riff
On offer here is a VERY rare LP by FLEETWOOD MAC" and is an ORIGINAL 1968 UK 1st Pressing on the 1st Press BLUE HORIZON label!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!! AS A RESULT IT IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND INCREDIBLY HARD TO LOCATE TODAY!!!! JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES!!!! THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1968 UK MONO album WITH LAMINATED OUTER GATE AND INNER FLIPBACKS!!!!
!!!!A VERY HARD FIND!!! Most have been bought up by collectors!! This is hardly offered these days!!
Gatefold Sleeve: VG+. Extremely hard to find this sleeve without any issues. This one is still in splendid condition bar the fact that on the inner gate fold there is a tear where the two flaps had become stuck together (see pic). The sleeve is laminated and has only a couple of tiny under laminate "mini" creases. It lays completely flat and has no writing or smudging. The spine is 100% legible. Overall a VG+ which would have been EX without the tear.
Vinyl: VG+ to EX. Both surfaces retain their original deep, glossy sheen. A GREAT VINYL COPY !!! There are a couple of the usual paper sleeve retraction traces. There are no heavy marks but there are a few light shallow hairlines which do not impede the quality of replay at all!! The record sounds sensational, the vinyl being the heavy variety the equivalent of a Rolls Royce in private motor cars.
Outstanding audio delivery in all respects with a crystal clear, deep, rich, warm and detailed sound and on playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my LPs prior to listing and it's always an immense pleasure to return to this one) there is barely any surface noise just a tiny bit of static at times which is surely not intrusive at all and low level. This is a beautifully clean pressing (and I must emphasise again how difficult it is to find a copy which plays this well). The whole LP sounds absolutely stunning and plays to an extremely high standard with superb clarity, no groove-wear and no distortion and is very strictly graded a strong VG+ on account of the few light hairlines, verging into EX territory for replay - great copy!! Of course, NO skips, NO jumps, NO ticks.
