Fleetwood Mac : Mr. Wonderful A1 / B1 1st Press Blue Horizon 1968 Stereo Sticker on Back Cover
This first stereo pressing plays with stunning audio on both sides with barely any interference. The clarity and depth of the audio is astonishing! As always I have played every track in full and it is without doubt one of the cleanest records from the 60s I have ever encountered. There is just one click on S1 although there is nothing on the vinyl to suggest a reason so may be a pressing fault. S2 just has 3/4 very quiet ticks that are not intrusive and overall the sonic quality truly is exceptional! The clarity of sound on the very quiet final track is a case in point. The vinyl is visually stunning and you would not be disappointed if you had just bought it brand new and that is no exaggeration!
The laminated cover, with the stereo sticker on the back, is in superb condition with very little wear and the plain white inner sleeve is also in excellent condition also.
This first pressing has an A1/B1 matrix and T2 on S1 and T5 on S2 are the wrong way round on the inside of the cover.

Visual description
This vinyls has been so well looked after and has an immaculate jet-black glossy sheen with no marks or scratches. Even when I look under a bright light I can only find a couple of ultra faint hairlines! The grooved rough textured Blue Horizon labels are unmarked and have only a little spindle wear.
Play grading
The run in on S1 is so clean you would think it was brand new and not pressed in '68! The intro on 'Stop Messin' Round' then plays perfectly and the opening vocal is just as strong. From then on it plays with a clarity that can only described 'as new' the playback is stunning. This is easily a Mint start to this first pressing including the fade out.
The bluesy intro on 'I've Lost My Baby' has no background, not even a dust tick, and it continues in the same way with no intrusion on the audio. Once again I cannot emphasise enough how clean and precise the audio is. Sounds like it has never been played! Mint
Both 'Rollin' Man' and 'Dust My Broom' are quite powerful tracks and yet there is no distortion on the top end. No interference either and they grade as Mint no need for a minus even.
The intro on 'Love That Burns' plays with 'wonderful' clarity and depth and the opening vocal has only a couple of minor statics, so quiet and hardly worth a mention really! There is one click on the next vocal (no idea of the cause) but the remainder plays with sublime quality i.e. no background. It has a long fade out and yet there is no background at all. Featuring great work from Perfect (as known then) throughout this is such a strong track and Ex+ is well deserved. Downgraded due to that one click otherwise Mint-
'Doctor Brown' ends the side with powerful audio and no distortion on the top end. For a final track the sonic quality is so impressive and Mint is again a fair assessment of the audio.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Need Your Love Tonight' plays with superb audio from start to finish. I think I may have heard some very light background ticks but honestly they are so quiet, barely audible in fact. They may even be part of the percussion! Near Mint-
'If You Be My Baby' plays with exceptional clarity and warmth with no sign of any interference. The overall 'sound' here is so strong and clear and Green's guitar work is a prime example of that. Mint is again deserved. Incredible to think this vinyl is fast approaching 56 years of age!
The instrumental 'Evenin' Boogie' is 'as new' no exaggeration. No ticks, clicks, pops or static the audio is flawless. Mint
'Lazy Poker Blues' is of the same high end standard with zero intrusion. The production on this album may have received criticism but it still sound darn good to me and especially on a vinyl as clean as this. The depth and power of the audio here is stunning. Mint
'Comin' Home' also deserves to be graded as Mint such is the quality. Impeccable audio from the first note to the last.
The final track 'Trying So Hard To Forget' is of course very quiet and the clarity is AMAZING! There is just one very minor quiet tick on the intro and then the opening vocal plays to perfection. This standard is kept up as it continues and rarely have I heard such a clean and 'fresh' sound on a track this quiet and of this age! I cannot even hear the stylus running through the grooves! There are are three quiet dull ticks right at the end but they do not take way from what is a superb track. Let's say Near Mint-
In summary this first pressing plays to an incredible standard with barely any interference. S1 is so close to perfect with just one click and S2 is just as impressive. The clarity is stunning for a record from 1968 and whilst there is a little spindle wear it is obvious this album has been so well preserved including the cover. It doesn't really get much better than this. A stunning album in so many ways.
The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve
The laminated E.J. Day cover is in superb condition with no obvious wear. The edges have no rubbing and the spine remains 100% legible with just a crease line running down the centre. All four corners are very clean with only minimal wear and the opening edges have hardly any handling wear. The front and back cover are stunning with no marking and the inside of the gatefold is super clean also. The flipbacks have some light rubbing mainly on the centre of the edges but this is only minor and they remain perfectly attached to the cover. A superb example.
The original poly-lined plain white inner is in excellent condition with only a little age related fading around the edges and minimal creasing.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
