Day Mono Sleeve!!! In Truly Breathtaking Ex++ Vinyl Condition!!!
Here is another gem from my own mostly Nr Mint personal collection (which I am selling off gradually to lessen the pain...) I have been collecting very rare vinyl for a long time now. As a collector, I have been very critical about the condition of the records I have chosen to buy over the years, and only selected the most pristine 1st pressings I have found. My collection is therefore filled with not only the rarest UK 1st pressings, but also records of the highest grade quality condition, some of the best you will probably ever come across. Sadly, most now have to find new homes. As I said, I am very strict with my grading, so when I describe a record as Nr Mint - you can rest assured that it will be a true Nr Mint record (I never grade any records as Mint because Mint does not exist unless you own a time machine and go back and bag a job in a 1960's record pressing plant!) This record is very special indeed!!! You are bidding on THE ORIGINAL EARLIEST UK Mono 1st Pressing (1G//1G Matrix) of Fleetwood Mac's Debut Album 'Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac'! This was the first ever LP from from Fleetwood Mac. Thanks to the legendary Peter Green's influence, this was the best record they ever made. Forget Fleetwood Mac's later (especially 1980's & 90's) records, this is pure blues from start to finish. Peter green's guitar playing is unbelievable and shows what an underrated guitarist he was. This was his baby, in I suppose much the same was as 'Piper at the Gates of Dawn' belonged to Syd Barrett. In fact there are many parallels to be drawn between Green & Barrett. Green too, struggled with the spotlight and withdrew into LSD much the same as Syd did. He also became reclusive, battling mental illness and faded into obscurity throughout much of the 1970's & 80's like Syd, only occasionally resurfacing with a album. All n all, Peter Green was one of Britain' s best blues guitarists, if not the best. In fact, BB King once exclaimed "I'm sorry, Peter Green is best' to a packed Royal Albert Hall during a gig back in 1969 in which Eric Clapton & George Harrison happened to be watching from a private box!!! Pretty much says it all!!! Anyways, don't be put off by the terrible music Fleetwood Mac have inflicted upon us over the last 20 years. This is nothing like that, it is awesome and more bluesy than anything they ever did again. If you have never heard this record it will blow you away! - this is most definitely for you!! If you have heard it, but want to upgrade then this is for you.
However, what makes this 1st pressing even more special is that it is in superb EX++ Vinyl Condition with a full deep glossy sheen! It is the best example I have ever listened too and I cannot begin to stress how rare it is to find this UK Mono 1st press of this blues classic in anything approaching this kind of condition!!! It looks and plays pristinely!

The first thing you notice about this 1968 UK 1st pressing is its incredible thickness and weight - it is very, very heavy!!! As you'd expect, the cool 1st press 'textured' Blue Horizon centre labels are in Stunning condition!!! There are NO Scribbles. NO lifting or Bubbling, NO unwanted writing/scribbles and just the lightest spindle lines only visible when holding the record angled against light - like I said before, this record has hardly ever been played!!! Absolutely beautiful!!! The gramophone rims containing the all important 1st press matrix are also Mint-!!! Again, I cannot emphasise how very difficult it is to find Mono 1st press copies of this LP that have not been played to death, there were not many made and on the rare occasions that the do turn up they are full of nasty scratches and gouges. This one is NOT!!! It looks absolutely stunning with a deep shine and just has one or two of the faintest Paper lines. These are virtually invisible and are simply caused by removing the record from its inner sleeve!!! Please note, they are NOT hairlines!!!! This record has clearly only seen a handful of plays on a turntable!!! The quality thick & chunky 1st press vinyl looks and sounds absolutely stunning!!! And remember - this is the earliest 1st Mono press, straight from the master sounding raw, louder, more defined and more punchy than all the weaker later re-pressings. This plays absolutely beautifully. Having a clear, clean Mono sound is so important on this record due to it bluesy dynamics!!! Anyways, It plays almost silently throughout with NO Pops, NO Hissing and NO nasty crackles!!! It just the the very occasional isolated low level crackle in just a few places between tracks. It is beautiful and will grace any high grade any 1960's 1st press Blues/Beat collection and it easily grades as Ex++ a fantastic looking record!!! The original 1st press E. J. Day front laminated sleeve is also in super condition!!! It has retained all it stiffness (not gone floppy and lifeless like most around today) and has NO Tears, and very little of the Seam Wear common to this sleeve!!! There is No Seam splitting and the thick 1st press laminate is in beautifully preserved condition, crystal clear and really allowing the bright vibrant colours to shine through!!! There are just 2 tiny 'oxbow' type creases to the front laminate and that's it!!! The sleeve has NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! There seams are lovely with just a tiny patch of wear to the middle of the top and there is just some light wear to 3 of the corners. A beautiful example of this fragile 1st press sleeve which easily grades as Excellent!!! Believe me, like all my other records this is in no way over-graded!!! Of course this comes with its original 1st issue 'patents application' poly-lined windowed inner sleeve which is in Ex+ condition, with no unwanted scribbles/ writing etc. and no nasty creases or separating of the inner poly lining!!! A truly beautiful example of a very, very rare record!!! Don't miss this one!!!
I have tried to show you the record from all angles - there's nothing to hide!!! If you are not sure of anything just email me - I will be happy to help. Don't underestimate the rarity of this LP - finding a UK 1st press of this LP in this kind of condition is impossible today!!! Good Luck!!!

Postage ... Hazey Jane has absolutely NO hidden surcharges; the price you win is the price you pay, just add the relevant postage, it's as simple as that! We always combine postage so if you win more than 1 auction you save money on postage costs! We will only ship to non-UK countries via Airmail - we do not use surface mail, it is way too slow and thus increases the risk of records being damaged during transit.
A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. If you don't add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will not get a refund. Can we be any clearer? I think not.

Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards. If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...
Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.
We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
