An ultra rare Psych/Kraut masterpiece from Floh De Cologne. Rarely seen these days, in this barely played condition. Surely a major investment piece! Keyboard driven garage rock seamlessly blends with funny German skits to create an irreverent counter-hegemonic assault on the twin evils of residual Nazism and American cultural imperialism. Highly original!
Floh de Cologne were formed in 1966 as a political and anarchic collective of students from the University of Cologne. The group is composed by Gerd Wollschon (voices, keyboards), Markus Schmidt (violin, bass), Hans-Jorg "Hansi" Frank (drums & keyboards) and Britta Baltruschat (voices). They recorded their first album "Vietnam" (Pläne) in 1968. This is their second album and again is very much in the same vein. The famous and controversial Rolf Ulrich Kaiser (OHR) produced their following albums, the classic "Rockoper Profitgeier" (1971) and "Lucky Streik" (1972). All albums contain provocative and humorous sketches about political and social facts. Musically their style can be considered as a mixture between krautrock, avant-folk, sound experimentations, free rock and narratives. Recorded in 1973, "Geier Symphonie" punctuates Floh de Cologne's original style to demonstrative, semi theatrical and symphonic rock attacks.
This is a very sought after original AND IN MY OPINION RAREST EVER GERMAN press! These were only put on a very limited amount of issues of this pressing! Please note! This vinyl is up there with the very best that I have ever heard of this pressing! It is rare enough to find this label variation but to find with very near perfect audio will be very hard to surpass and it has got to be a must for any avid audiophiles or collectors out there!!
Vinyl: EX. Stunning deep glossy vinyl. This album has not had much play!! A beautiful glossy vinyl with just a few wispy hairlines that are barely visible in normal daylight and really they are more like paper retraction trace lines. This has no effect at all on the stunning audio. I subjected the record to a detailed listen on my high end system and it sounded great. Lovely channel separation without any distortion or crackle. This vinyl is a beautiful upgrade. One label has a circular library sticker. Incredibly hard to find as an original in the first place, in this marvellous condition ...?
Gatefold sleeve: EX+. A beautiful gatefold sleeve from the original printers in Bergisch Gladbach near Cologne. I was not sure whether to surrender this for auction quite yet, but here it goes. The sleeve has no faults whatsoever bar the original library sticker near the bottom corner which could easily be removed, this sleeve being laminated, but I do believe it adds to the 'patina' of its heritage. There is one small corner crease as seen in the picture and there are NO stains, NO tears, NO writing. The edges are sheer perfection and totally unworn. The spine is 100% without any colour loss. The opening is ultra crisp.
This is a unique investment opportunity!!! The next prog album to go completely through the roof. Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible so late in the day. Get this while you still can. This value of the album is only going to go one way ... up and up ... until it will be totally unavailable at all for a reasonable price.
Important : International postage will be registered and insured if over GBP 30.00. In the UK, if over £100.00 this will be sent special delivery. Please wait for an amended invoice before paying. Postage will be according to Royal Mail rates. Postage is NOT a money spinning exercise for me.
Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items, I always try my very best to describe everything exactly! PLEASE REMEMBER to contact me FIRST, if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one! I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem! This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Similarly with the amount of stars, anything less than a full 5 * rating is effectively detrimental to a seller's rating as lower ratings will incur higher Final Value Fees and lower priority in the bid lists eventually making it unattractive to list items on Ebay at all. I know of at least one major previous Ebay seller who has decided not to list via Ebay again. Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem. Thanks again!!
This an excellent investment opportunity!!! Any questions please ask me and I will try to answer soon.
