Description
Flowers was issued on the 15th of July 1967 by Decca UK, with the company exporting a very small limited number of mono albums to the Scandanavian countries of Europe. Flowers was not actually sold in UK until the mid 70's when the boxed version was pressed. The album had a mixed set of tracks on it, some already issued and some new ones. Lady Jane came from Aftermath, Back Street Girl came from Buttons but Sitting On A Fence had not previously appeared anywhere. Because of the extremely limited amount of mono albums manufactured, it is reported by serious stones collectors that today this mono album is one of the rarest Decca UK Stones albums to find in any condition. Whilst talking about condition, I can advise that the album I am auctioning is one of a thick highly glossed Decca vinyl and comes with 1a – 2a matrix numbers. I would grade the condition of both sides at either excellent + or mint – condition according to record grading standards. The outer cover with the original pinched spine is solid all round and very clean. It does though have a line of aged browning on the rear side but this does not prevent the cover from being graded as a strong excellent. Overall, this extremely rare album is in top condition for 42 years old and all serious collectors of the Rolling Stones know of its great rarity and of its great value. There are no clicks, tics, pops, crackle or background noise. It is also extremely quiet between the tracks.
