Description
Earlier this year an old friend sold off his collection of AUTOGRAPHED LP's, to me - all of which he'd obtained himself, personally, with photographic proof of each signing (all pix taken by his wife at the gigs - he only got items signed at actual gigs he went to) - he hung on to the photos but I saw the associated pix for all the albums I bought. This is one of them:
ARTIST: FOCUS
TITLE: "HAMBURGER CONCERTO" .
FORMAT: …vinyl LP…
LABEL: POLYDOR . .
DATE OF RELEASE: 1974 .
This is an Australian LP cover (gatefold, with insert - Polydor 2383284), with a UK LP inside (Polydor 2442124)...but more importantly, the back cover has been signed very clearly, in green biro, by JAN AKKERMAN and THIJS VAN LEER.
This was signed outside the back of the Hordern Pavilion (in Sydney), where they'd just played, late on 10th June 1975...just as they were about to get into their vehicle to leave.
He told me only about 5 or 6 people were waiting for the band there so they were very happy to take the time to talk to them and sign stuff - possibly hence the very legible signatures then.
(I'm sorry, but I neglected to find out the story why Bert Ruiter and Pierre Van Den Linden hadn't signed it...[I'm pretty sure Pierre had replaced Colin Allen just before this tour???] )
CONDITION:
COVER: ( EX- )...
RECORD: ( VG++ )...has almost all its original shine...with some light marks only (nothing heavy)...plays with some crackling...
LABELS: (Side One: MINT / Side Two: MINT )...
If you have any concerns about the accuracy of my gradings, please check my feedback for the odd nice comment from some satisfied folk out there.... (and hopefully you may be able to join their ranks). Thanks for considering this item...Cheers, Jules.
