Description

Artist -  Vos Cantu Monemus

Title - "Words Never Said"

Label -  Canticle Records (2441)

Country - Maryland, USA

Year - 1969

Condition:  cover

strong VG+  (light ring wear/record impression front and back; seams/spine rub wear but no splits; all 4 corners lightly dinged or rounded).  A very solid, presentable jacket.

Condition: record

Appearance:   VG++  (appears to have been played about 5 times on each side).  Looks almost NM!

Sound quality:  strong VG to VG+

This record does not play as well as it should based on it's appearance - it looks like it should sound close to NM but in reality plays with scattered mild to moderate background noise.  Upon very close inspection of the surface, there are some very light scuffs/hairlines and a few clusters of those tiny pit marks that look like the needle has been dropped repeatedly in the same spot (of course, it hasn't, but you know what I mean).  The record plays with light to moderate clicks that are rarely in clusters of more than 3 to 5 at a time (which definitely helps the overall sound quality).  There are a number of tracks, however, that are much less, if barely, affected.  Please keep in mind that the playback quality appears to be a direct result of  the poor quality of this private pressing album, and not due to its handling.  I have found several references to other copies of this record having similar appearance vs. playback realities.  I've provided no less than 5 sound bites below so that you can get a better idea of how this record plays.

Don't get me wrong  -  this record is in great shape and is still very enjoyable, but it's just a shame it couldn't be a pressing that better matches the quality and beauty of the music.

And as for the music (all songs are originals)  and the musicianship, not enough can be said about this album:  amazing songwriting, arrangements, guitar playing, vocals and harmonies.  There isn't a bad song on this extremely rare, limited pressing LP out of Rockville, MD, 1969.   Absolutely essential!

This is an original, vintage copy of this LP.    We do not sell current re-issues of any kind!
