Description

This is an overall fine original U.S. pressing copy of the rare sole LP by Food, recorded in Chicago and released in 1969.  The record is one of a handful of coveted psych LPs released on the Capitol label (along with those by Gandalf, Euphoria, and the Common People).  It features a mix of spacey orchestrated pop with some guitar-dominated psych rock.  Per Discogs, a couple of songs from the LP appeared on the soundtrack of "porno B-movie" (interesting distinction) The Babysitters.  The back cover suggests that the group took their name from Shakespeare ("If music be the food of love etc.").  Gotta love the Sixties.  The jacket has one main flaw: a 2” streak of what appears to be whiteout or white paint on the front cover (see photo).  It also has a 3” crease on the front cover, light ring wear and scuffing, and light seam wear -- overall EX-.  The disc has some light scraping and scuffing, and plays with some light surface noise -- EX(-).

I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.

If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
