FOREST – S/T – Debut HARVEST SHVL 760 (no EMI logo on label) 1st Press.
1969 stereo recording issued on Harvest label SHVL 760, matrix numbers A-1G / B-1G – Forest debut self-titled progressive folk/rock album, original UK 1st. pressing.
Visually the disc is great; clean and shiny with a couple of light scratches. We expected it to sound near-perfect. BUT it doesn’t! Both sides are plagued by a LOT of ticks (mainly light but some really noticeable) plus occasional light crackle; no skips or jumps. Maybe professional cleaning would help – we don’t know. Buyer beware! Gatefold sleeve is very good, a bit worn at corners and edges. Inside of sleeve has ‘OXX’ in red pencil and a few light coffee spots.
