This is the original UK LP by FOTHERINGAY, Self-Titled,  June 1970, Stereo 1st Press on the PINK 'i' logo label ILPS 9125.

 


FOTHERINGAY was formed by Sandy Denny after she left Fairport Convention in 1969, and was the groups only release.

The band drew its name from her 1968 composition "Fotheringay" about Fotheringay Castle in which Mary Queen of Scots had been imprisoned.


Matrix numbers are,  Side 1:-  ILPS 9125 A#2 1 1 3

 The original 1970 UK 1st issue E.J DAY gatefold cover is in EX condition. The massively broad spine is clean and perfectly readable, showing light wear. The cover maintains all it's original bright vibrant colour. The corners and seams show light wear, not distracting, the back shows a light wear. The front is superb!, no scuffs, minimal wear. Inside the gatefold is superb, fresh and clean. 



The vinyl is in *MINT* condition. Totally un-marked, gleaming with all its original factory fresh shine and lustre!.


 The vinyl plays MINT- !, playing with superb clarity, playing with superb depth and warmth!. Such a beautiful playing vinyl!!!

The labels are in MINT- condition, beautifully clean and fresh, no unwanted writing, no scuffs, the centre spindle hole shows no wear.



The original 1970 UK 1st issue polythene lined inner sleeve is in EX+ condition, clean, no seam splits, no unwanted writing. On the front bottom right hand corner is 'MADE IN ENGLAND B.1 / 0670' (JUNE 1970).
