EXTREMELY RARE 1965 UK DEMO!
Their 1st Motown Release!
EXTREMELY RARE 1965 Original DEMO 7". How often does this single even show up? Let alone as a demo copy?!
This is one of the rarest Motown and Four Tops items ever! Their first single to be released on the, at the time, ever growing Tamla Motown label. Released in the UK in March 1965, this was Motown's 7th single to be released in the UK.
What makes this even more special is that fact this is a demo copy that would have been sent to radio stations etc. to be played before the single was commerically released. But also, this single is a white label with a large Red A on the side 1's label, unlike alot of Motown demo's which are green labels with a white A. Maybe this is because of it is one of the oldest Motown releases. As you will notice in the matrix code, the tax stamp KT is actually stamped into the deadwax, instead of pressed into the push-out centre like the later singles.
The label states DEMONSTRATION RECORD NOT FOR SALE. The label also says Made In Gt. Britain. The A side has writing credits of Stevenson-Hunter and producer credits again of Stevenson-Hunter. The B side has writing credits of Holland-Dozier-Holland and was produced by Holland & Dozier. The label also states Jobete BMI as its publisher.
You would be very lucky to ever find another one of these, and also be very lucky to find another Tamla Motown demo as old as this!

Company Sleeve: EXCELLENT
This single comes with the original Gold and white 5 star Tamla Motown diecut company sleeve. It is in excellent condition with no seem splits, no major rips, no writing, just general light wear and tear.
Vinyl Visual: VERY GOOD+
Vinyl Audio: EXCELLENT+
There are some very light marks on both of the sides of the vinyl, but it still has plenty of its original shine! But what can you expect from a classic single that is over 40 years old! However is sounds amazing, there is very very little background noise and the clarity is still excellent! Rare!
Labels: VERY GOOD+/EXCELLENT+
On side 1's label there is a small 1cm circle red sticker located on the right of the A, see photo. And there is some light surface wear on the left hand bottom corner of the red A. Otherwise there is no rips, no surface tears, and no spindle marks! This is probably because it was the only side that was played! Side 2's label is really nice and clean with no dirt, no writing, no stickers and only a handful of light spindle marks.
