Description
FRANK HATCHETT
legendary jazz dance teacher, presents
BROWN SUGAR ON BROADWAY.
Contains a ton of boogie/funk/soul/disco/breaks. Some seriously KILLER breaks on here.
Released on Statler Records, Inc, presumably sometime in the 1970s?
1795 Express Drive North, Smithtown, New York
Dance Studio library music supply label. Apparently existed from the late 1950's up until the late 1980's, possibly even into the 1990's. Due to it's exclusive nature, not much information is known.
The record, visually graded, has a few visible scuffs here and there, some minor cosmetic nicks. Still kept in great shape and has good shine.
The record, play graded, plays through and sounds great. Some light crackle is heard from time to time (between tracks, etc.)
Overall, solid VG+ copy.
The jacket, front cover; has a bit of fading within the orange circle as well as some regular shelf ring wear, nothing overpowering (as visible in the scans) There is also on the top left and top middle, in 1/2" writing, the words "Boogie 1&2 - Let It Shine - 2" (presumably from a dance class?)
The jacket, back cover; has a small amount of regular shelf wear as with the front, barely noticable. There is no writing on the back cover. The ring wear is generally less noticable on the back cover.
The jacket, seams; the spine is clearly readable, the corners on the spine side are a little dinged up, nothing much to speak of. The open side seams are in better shape, the bottom right corner has a 1/4" seam split, and is also has small bend as with the spine side corners.
Overall, assuming the existence and size of the writing, the jacket is a solid VG+ as well.
