This album was reputed to be the hardest to find of the early Columbia LPs. It featured mostly late Columbia Classics like NEVERTHELESS with Billy Butterfield chasing FS on horn, and the sound reproduction is first rate with no distortion

Again, the photo insert of Sinatra looks as though it may have been lifted from the shooting of Suddenly during the Capitol era, but the material is a wonderful selection of beautifully sung, well selected, and well written songs.

The mix, if you can recreate it with existing Legacy cd releases; doesn't have a clinker in the bunch.

This album, and the other Columbia albums gave rise to the belief that FS recorded less than 90 sides (because of duplications) that were worth the trouble to re-release, and served to diminish the accomplishments during he Columbia period for decades.

But patient fans, and a resurgence in interest in the entire FS catalogue, were to finally bring these songs, and all of the 1943 -1952 Columbia era into focus as Sinatra's purest vocal period.

(a)          THE ALBUM IS STILL FACTORY SEALED IN ITS ORIGINAL PLASTIC BAGGY (TYPICALLY USED IN THE MID-60s) AND IS BELIEVED TO BE PERFECTLY MINT. Please note: sealed items are assumed to be mint and are sold as-is, as we have no way of inspecting them. For our policy on still sealed records ►click here (PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING A BID).

(b)          The record is STILL in its original inner, perforated plastic baggy (sealed).

(c)           The record has a "deep groove" (an indent in the label about 1/2-inch from the edge of the label, which on SOME labels is associated with very early or first pressings).

(d)          The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(e)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·       COVER

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT VERY GOOD++ (VG++).

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-        Cover has a partially split top seam (between 4 and 6 inches  / 10 to 15 centimeters); This split seam was delicately taped by the previous owner with a piece of transparent scotch tape

-        Cover has a partially split bottom seam (between 1 and 2 inches  / 2.5 to 5 centimeters); This split seam was delicately taped by the previous owner with a piece of transparent scotch tape

-         Cover has some light ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 4 (front side) and 2 (back side)

-         Cover has a few tiny wrinkles along the spine

-         Visible shelf wear noted on the spine

-         Cover shows JUST A HINT of yellowing on both sides, apparently from aging.

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No saw-marks or indents

-        No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers)

-        No writing

-        No stamps

-        No tearing: no chips, dents or nicks on the seams

-        No peel-off marks

-        No stains

-        No mold or mildew spots

-        No stickers or labels

-        No water damage

-        No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or  cuts.

-        No warping

-        No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-        No glue traces or wax residue.

-        No bar codes

-        No RIAA stamps or stickers.
