FRANK ZAPPA Chunga's Revenge 1970 UK REPRISE RSLP MINT- AUDIO
FRANK ZAPPAChunga's Revenge
UK REPRISE (RSLP 2030) PRESSING (November 1970) OF FRANK ZAPPA'S "Chunga's Revenge"
LOVELY COPY OF THIS WONDERFUL LP - POSSIBLY NEVER BEEN PLAYED (there are no spindle traces to the labels and the vinyl surfaces shine like new)
PRESSED WITH DEEP TAN REPRISE LABELS WHICH CARRY THE 'RSLP 2030' CATALOGUE NUMBER (one of last UK Reprise LPs with the RSLP prefix, released just at the time the Kinney (K) prefix was coming into use)
MATRIX: RSLP 2030 A1 / RSLP 2030 B1 (plus a full set of K matrices; K44020 A1/K44020 B1)
THE RECORD IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL *RED* MATT GATEFOLD SLEEVE "Printed and made by MacNeill Press Ltd., London, S.E.1" WHICH HAS A FACTORY SEALED LEFT SIDE EDGE
COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL PLAIN WHITE INNER SLEEVE WITH "MADE IN ENGLAND" AND UK PATENT NUMBER PRINTED IN BLUE
Chunga's Revenge marks the debut of Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan (among several other musicians) with the Mothers, and while their schtick has not reached the graphic proportions it later would, the thematic obsessions of the 200 Motels period are foreshadowed on tracks like "Road Ladies" and "Would You Go All the Way?"
Other vocal numbers include the hard-rocking "Tell Me You Love Me," the musicians' union satire "Rudy Wants to Buy Yez a Drink," and the doo wop "Sharleena."
Meanwhile, Frank Zappa's strong instrumental music incorporates Eastern European influences ("Transylvania Boogie"), cocktail jazz ("Twenty Small Cigars"), and the percussion-only "The Clap."
Zappa's guitar tone is wonderfully biting and nasty throughout and George Duke provides another musical highlight with his scat-singing "drum solo."

Transylvania Boogie (5:01)
Road Ladies (4:11)
Twenty Small Cigars (2:17)
The Nancy & Mary Music (Part 1) (2:42)

LABELS: MINT-
Clean, bright, unmarked labels with no spindles that I can see
VINYL Visual: MINT-
Both surfaces are exceptionally clean, retain a deep glossy sheen and appear completely unmarked
VINYL Audio: MINT-
My play-check at loud volume detected no audio imperfections and the record plays beautifully throughout
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT(+)
Fine example of this first RSLP sleeve with just a little storage rubbing to the edges and fading to the red on the spine but good, solid and unmarked with no ring-wear
ALL RECORDS ARE PACKAGED WITH THE VINYL OUTSIDE OF THE SLEEVE TO PREVENT ANY 'KNIFING' DURING TRANSIT
A PROTECTIVE POLY SLEEVE, NEW INNER SLEEVE WITH ANTI-STATIC LINER, QUALITY BOX (NOT ENVELOPE) MAILER AND AMPLE STIFFENERS ARE ALWAYS USED TO ENSURE THAT YOUR RECORD ARRIVES SAFELY
