Description
Frank Zappa’s Chunga’s Revenge, released October 23, 1970 on Bizarre Records, distributed by Reprise. Catalog number MS 2030. This is the original 1970 US Terre Haute pressing, identified by the “T” suffix in the matrix runout, reading MS-2030 T on both sides. The label displays the Warner Bros./Seven Arts logo alongside the Bizarre imprint, consistent with the first US issue. Produced by Frank Zappa. Recorded at The Record Plant in Hollywood, Trident Studios in London, T.T.G. Inc. in Hollywood, and Whitney Studios in Glendale. The Nancy and Mary Music was recorded live at the Tyrone Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Gatefold sleeve with interior artwork by Cal Schenkel. Original Bizarre inner sleeve is included.
This album marks the first appearance of former Turtles members Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan, credited as The Phlorescent Leech and Eddie, on a Zappa recording. The material served as a preview for the forthcoming 200 Motels film and album.
Please refer to all photos for detailed visuals of the vinyl, jacket, and sleeve as customers have varying standards for grading criteria.
