Description

 Up for auction is a very clean copy of the rare Frank Zappa album "Hot Rats" originally released on Bizzare Records (RS6356) in 1969.  This is a guaranteed, original first U.S. pressing, not a cheap reissue or import.  Original gatefold cover, original paper inner sleeve, original blue Bizzare labels.  Original "un-mixed" version unlike later pressings.  Highly sought-after version.

Correct first pressing Matrix markings:
RS-6356-A(30926)-1  A-1
RS-6356-B(30927)-2  (RE-1)

Gatefold cover is in very nice condition with very few signs of previous handling or wear.  Front graphics are colorful and clean.  Tiny bit of rub to black lettering and white banners (see photo).  No ring wear, which is so common for the matte cover--very prone to wear.  Back cover looks clean with only a hint of ring wear at top and bottom middle (see photo).  Corners are sharp, not bumped, small amount of rubbing on each corner.  Spine is clean, lettering clean, not creased from repeated opening.  Seams are strong, no splits.  Interior of gatefold is very clean and attractive with only a small hint of rub, hardly noticeable.  Grade the cover Near Mint Minus (NM-).

Vinyl is in superb condition, with few, if any, signs of previous signs of handling or play.  Surfaces are very shiny and new looking.  No scratches, no scuffs, no extraneous marks of any kind.  Labels are clean, no marks around spindle holes, indicating little previous play.  Original inner sleeve fits tightly on the record, not loose from repeated handling.  Very well-preserved and super clean.  Grade the vinyl Near Mint (NM).  Hard to find a nicer copy.

Many copies have sold for much more than I'm asking for this rare, original pressing.
