Description
FRATERNITY AC/DC Welfare boogie/Getting off PROMO (Aussie) RCA 102034 (1972 - final single and is probably the rarests of the Fraternity singles. A side is a kind of up-beat boogie rock but I reckon the flip is the better song. "Getting off" is a great track, blues rock with piano and harmonica and a touch of psych coming in when the organ and guitar kick in. Bon's destinctive vocals on both tracks. Only single off Flaming Galah tho there may have been another with a different flip that was possibly unreleased. Just some trivia: Bon would have been living in Aldgate in the Adelaide Hills around this time (Cricklewood Road [*Nick and Josh would know where this is]) and both these tracks would have gone down well at the pubs around there ... The Bridgewater, etc. My dad remembers seeing Fraternity live in Adelaide and says Bon Scott had a kind of stage charisma that set him apart from others.)
Grade: A side is EX- (plays clean) but the flip is somewhere around VG and has a kind of abrasion across an edge section which sounds for the first 20% of the track when played on my system. Comes in the original generic distro sleeve which is clean but has a stain on a part of it (see scan). Don't see this single very often in any condition tho. Date written in pen on label.
Note about the history of this single. It has been in storage in a wooden box in Port Adelaide South Australia for 20+ years along side the other Fraternity singles, AC/DC singles and other Aussie 70s rock 45s. Has never been in general circulation since the inter-net came along.
IMPORTANT: All records graded carefully under strong light. I have a long standing good reputation for grading and I strongly recommend taking a glance at my grading info linked below.
Detailed information on my grading system is here. If this record is made in South Korean please click here for further information about South Korean pressings. Most 7 inch records $10 and over will be sent in quality Japanese made 'seal-able' plastic outer sleeves and (if near mint) more often than not they will also be sent in quality Japanese made 'soft' plastic inner sleeves for extra protection against sleeve scuffs and the like.NOTE: If BEST OFFER is nominated - All prices include free worldwide shipping which may in some cases include registration/tracking on higher priced items. The set price is the price I am after but I may consider a lesser price for e-bay members who are either ... located in AUSTRALIA/NZ/SOUTH KOREA/JAPAN ... OR ... has a post box address and/or high feedback ... OR ... is someone who is a regular customer/seller I already know.
PAYPAL ONLY - NO LOCAL PICKUPS. Thanks.
