Description
Here's the "SLIM JACKSON TRIO," a record company moniker for the hot music made by New York City musicians BOB FULLER (clarinet), LOUIS HOOPER (piano) and ELMER SNOWDEN (banjo). Bob Fuller was a "Gas-House" clarinetist, placing him in direct competition with Boyd Senter, Wilton Crawley and other exponents of this wacky style. Bob definitely holds his own on this record!
The trio beats their way through "FREAKISH BLUES" and "LOUISVILLE BLUES." In the '20s, "freakish" was the African-American word for "Gay."
This original 1925 Cameo 705 is in V++ condition; some surface scratches obtrude slightly into what otherwise would be an EE- record.
