FREDDIE HUBBARD "Hub-Tones" 1962 ORIGINAL BLUE NOTE LP (MONO 4115)
Perhaps Hubbard’s greatest disc, with 22 year old Herbie Hancock just coming into his own before recording “Taking Off” and before joining Miles Davis. Also Reggie Workman and the much underrated drummer Clifford Jarvis.
The disc HAS THE NEW YORK USA LABEL ADDRESS. THE HEAVY VINYL ALSO HAS THE Plastylite "EAR" IN EXCELLENT/VG++ CONDITION WITH SOME LIGHT SLEEVE SCUFFING VERY FEW MARKS, A SCUFF ALONG THE GROOVES ON SIDE 1 HUBTONES, NONE OF CONSEQUENCE, THE LABELS ARE CLEAN.
IT PLAYS GREAT, ESSENTIALLY QUIET SURFACE, NOT PERFECT, THE SLIGHTEST OCCASIONAL LOW LEVEL SOUND, BUT THE SONIC STATE OF THIS RECORD IS IN THE ZONE.
The cover is excellent, a little discoloration at the entry side, a little chipping top and bottom edge, ½ inch top entry split, the spine is perfect. The back is clean no marks, a bit of ring wear on the white and some discoloration rub on the edges. (PLEASE LOOK CAREFULLY AT THE PICTURES).
I listen to the entire record before I list, I am a fair grader and my system is unforgiving, I use an ortophon 2 red with an audio-technica 1240, a marantz pm 5005 and bowers and wilkins speakers, little escapes unheard). Before you purchase a record from me I want you to know exactly what you are getting.
I am including the original inner sleeve but have placed the disc in a MOFI anti-scratch, anti-static master sleeve.
This is a collectors disc in fine shape, playable without disturbance (I am listening to it right now).
