Visual grading

This rare first press of Barcelona is in stunning condition and is fantastically clean.  I cannot detect any hairlines or scratches at all such is the quality.  As my play grading below testifies I would say this vinyl has been hardly played it plays that well!  It looks new such is the sheen it retains.

Play grading

'Barcelona' on Side One has to be one of the best versions I have heard.  There is hardly any static from beginning to end and the clarity is astounding and plays with wonderful depth.  There are two clicks on 'La Japonaise', the remainder is Near Mint, exceptional audio.  'The Fallen Priest' plays in the same way with just one click.   What makes this vinyl stand out is just how clear the audio is during the quiet sections.  It sounds sublime.  'Ensueno' plays with equal audio with just a couple of clicks.

'The Golden Boy' begins proceedings on Side Two with stunning audio, you really can't get much better.  Again the silent passages play superbly with no static.  For such a quiet track 'Guide Me Home' plays with very clear audio with just the lightest of static here and there but not obtrusive.  'How Can I Go On' plays almost as Mint and 'Overture Piccante' has just a little static.

Overall this LP plays with wonderfully clear audio and is definitely one of the better ones I have heard.  The quieter sections play so well it is perhaps odd that there are 4-6 clicks during the playback

Cover

The gatefold is in overall excellent condition with just minimal shelf wear.  There is a little rubbing on the edges of the reverse side of the gatefold but apart from that it is extremely clean.  It has a superb wide spine.  There is just a little sticker residue on the top right hand corner.  The opening edge is very clean with no handling wear and the inside of the gatefold is like new.

The lyric inner and labels

The lyric inner is in absolute perfect condition, no wear whatsoever.   The label on Side One does have a small fold that was caused during the pressing process.
