FREDDIE McKAY Caught You Red Handed b/w Jah Love I. This is as near perfect a copy as you will ever find. Both songs are on the same rhythm with different dubs. The sample contains 3 portions, a bit of Caught You Red Handed with lead in noise then a small section of the very end of side one where there is a light 3/16 inch scratch that plays lightly for a few clicks to the end of the side. Then side 2 Jah Love I sample follows. I have included the vinyl lead in noise at the beginning of both sides so that you can compare it to the clarity of the recording. The sample has not been denoised or tampered with and was made on a Mark II Technics Turntable with a Shure cartridge and recorded through a Numark mixer to a Mac Powerbook using Amadeus software. The sample is an MP3, thus not as true to the recording as it can be. There has been some discussion regarding hiss on one of the tracks. I wasn't able to discern any noticeable hiss on this copy to distract the listening. The record looks brand new. The wax is very shiny and free of any surface marks. The labels are pristine. The original Lucky Star cover is almost pristine with two light smudges (see image 3 above) less than 1/2 square inch each on the back cover. I bought the record new in 1980 from Chin Randy's Records in Brooklyn. It has been in storage for many years and kept in a plastic sleeve. This is as good as they come!
