FREDDY

(FREDDY QUINN)

With Bert Kaempfert

Side A:      “LA GUITARRA Y EL MAR”

                 (Die Gitarre Und Das Meer)

Side B:      “NECESITAS UN AMIGO”

(Du Brauchst Doch Immer Wieder Einen Freund)

MEGARARE original, very first MONO press released in Chile in 1960 and made by Polydor Records, licensed from the La Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft, made and distributed by Philips Chilena S.A. Productos Eléctricos (Philips Records), with orange/black labels, catalog number NH 23 881, with machine etched matrix numbers 23 881 A A9 in Side A and 23 881 B A9 in Side B. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM CHILE!!!

The first song in this MEGARARE SINGLE is taken from the 1959 movie “Freddy, Die Gitarre Und Das Meer” as informed in the label only in Spanish, with song titles only in Spanish. It’s also credited the participation of Bert Kaempfert “Bert Kaempfert Y Sus Solistas” (Bert Kaempfert Und Seine Solisten) only in Spanish. If you know or collect Freddy Quinn you must already know that this single released in Chile is really almost impossible to find in good playable condition!!! And here we have got a copy for you!!! Another TOP RARITY from this side of the world!!!

This single comes in a generic sleeve in good condition. Record is in VG condition, it’s glossy and clean but with many hairlines and scuffs and some light scratches which don’t affect sound. Labels are in VG condition, some discoloration, wear and a writing on Side B. Sound is in great VG+ or EX- condition the Side A, with minimal background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), but absolutely loud and clear, with some light crackles here and there, which don’t distract at all, and in VG- or VG condition the Side B, with a little more evident surface noise and crackles, but still with a very decent and respectable sound. Overall an amazing RARITY with not the best look, not for Minty minds, but a fabulous record with a great sound quality considering it’s about 52 years old!!! No distorsions, no jumps, no clicks, a great sound from the beginning to the end!!! This single is a MUST no matter the condition!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!! TOP RARITY!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
