Description

Hello Austro-collectors, I wonder if anyone of you has ever seen this item: A handmade 45-single by Viennese Doo Wop/Proto-Beat-Band FRED HEINDL-COMBO accompanying Schlagersänger WALTER WOLTERS through two intense Tear Jerkers. My assumption is, that these boys later teamed up with Peter Hajdu to form PETER HAJDU-QUARTETT that waxed the legendary 'Wie ein Traum / Kleine Adelheid'-45 on Accordia. But that's only guess-work... The single here up for auction is really handmade: The labels were cut out with manicure scissors and then glued to the record. The Matrix-code in the run-out-groove states 'GG 1' and 'GG 2', possibly the identifying code for a local pressing plant but who knows. It's very unlikely that more than 100 copies of this were produced back then and this copy is NEAR MINT! The songs are really beautiful and sound just like 'recorded live in the garage'. Also the Austro-English translation of 'So wie das Meer' as 'So how the Sea' is a real heart-breaker. If you dig the sound of the very early Austrian Beat/Twist/Doo Wop-movement than this one is for you.

HAVE A LISTEN TO THE SOUND SAMPLES! Vinyl is near mint. No cover was produced! VERY VERY RARE! File under: Austro-Pop, Austro-Beat, Austro-Schlager, Doo-Wop, Rock-N-Roll, Österreich in den 1950ern und 1960ern... and next to: Bambis, Gipsies, Johnny & the Shamrocks, Hubbubs, Jerry & the Cannons, Jerry & the Twisters, Blue Flames, Allrounds, Rockets, White Stars, Sunset Combo/Sunset Four, Les Hammond Singers, König-Sextett, Sugar Brothers, Austrian Evergreens, Harry David Sextett, Hedi Prien, Gloria Sisters, Ferry Graf, Jörg Maria Berg, Evi Kent, Robert Benett, Pit Werner, Rockie Jackson ...
