Description
There are lots of versions of this album available, but many apparently only have one LP. This is the Collector's Edition which contains two LPs. I particularly like it because it uses the original mono recordings, and is recorded very clear, good quality, nice bright sound, no distortion. Notably, I can't find a number of these songs available for digital download, and this album isn't available in that format as a whole, either. I actually considered keeping it for that reason, and was disappointed not to be able to download it--because, ya know, I don't have a record player in my car. Little Willie John was one of the great R&B/soul/doo wop vocal pioneers who paved the way for rock and roll. Gifted with a pure, sweet tenor voice and tremendous energy, he made tons of great recordings before he died at the sadly young age of 30. AFAIK, these are all old King Records cuts, that being the label he worked with. Every single one is a winner. I urge you to check out this rocking collection filled with some of the most infectious, danceable grooves I've ever heard. I dare you to stand still while you are playing this record. You won't be able to, I guarantee it.
