FRESH MAGGOTS
Fresh Maggots (RCA SF 8205)
Here’s a beautiful copy of this classic acid folk album, as released in the UK in September 1971. It is definitely one of the hardest albums of its sort to find in decent condition, and this copy is lovely.
The front-laminated cover is in EX condition, with very light overall wear, NO splits, tears, stickers or writing, the lightest of shelf and corner wear and a fully legible spine.
The disc is also EX, beautifully glossy and shiny. Owing to a pressing fault, many copies of this LP have blisters on the playing surface – this copy does not suffer from that problem, but plays with occasional light surface noise, as all copies do.
The labels are NEAR MINT, with no wear.
The album also comes with three fascinating pieces of correspondence, as follows:
1) a copy of the duo’s original contract with the Sparta Florida Group Ltd., dated September 1970 and signed by both members of the duo and producer Mike Berry
2) a copy of a letter from producer Mike Berry confirming some BBC session dates for the duo, dated October 1971
3) a copy of a letter notifying the duo that their contract is to be renewed for two further years, dated September 1973
It is hard to believe that such a decent copy of this great album will surface again anytime soon.
The above description is honest and accurate. If you have questions or reservations, please communicate them during the auction, not after winning. Please note that this is GUARANTEED not to be a bootleg or counterfeit. It is in every respect ORIGINAL.
