Fruupp were:  Peter Farrelly – lead vocals, bass guitar; John Mason – keyboards, vibes, vocals;  Vincent McCusker – lead guitars, vocals; Martin Foye – drums, percussion, vocals. Guest: Ian McDonald – alto saxophone, percussion.
Brief Info:   Fruupp were a Northern Irish progressive rock band with a musical style similar to Genesis, Camel and Yes. They often supported these similar bands and achieved a good following live where they toured often. However major record sales proved elusive and all four of their albums are scarce, and even quite rare. Sadly under-appreciated, but now very collectable and sort-after. This was their final album and one of the hardest to find, as the prog-rock era was now coming to an end with punk rock now evolving on to the music scene – it largely went unnoticed except by core fans and followers. This a really lovely copy, and appears hardly played. It comes with its original 4-page insert, and even a 1975/76 winter tour programme. So not seen often, especially like this.
Cover Grade and Format:   EXCELLENT(+): an unlaminated single format with matt, smooth surfaces. Printed and made in England, no printer details but it has Pye credits in tiny type on the back bottom left.
Cover Front:    Superb artwork (as usual for Fruupp albums), and here seen to maximum advantage on the front that is barely worn. Fresh, clean and attractive with barely any rubbing Any creasing few, fine and mostly light. The lack of ring wear is always good news as well on these quite thin card covers. This IS the actual item on offer, I would, and never have used stock images.
Cover Back:    Largely the same and again impressive as seen.
Top Edge: Straight and fully intact with barely any wear.
Bottom Edge:    Again straight with any rub traces light and very patchy, this storage edge has fared well overall.
Right Edge:  Clean, quite sharp with any thickening or burring very slight, patchy and light. Record enters on this edge.
Spine and Text:   Really lovely, this is very thinly made but remains solid, straight with all text unworn, and for good measure, superbly centred on the narrow depth, few will be found better.
Corners:    Small/very small tip rubs with minimal tip creasing at all. Again for a cover like this, these have fared well, cover-protection for many years had paid dividends.
Cover Summary:  A very strong all-round example of this elusive original mid-70s cover, one that will prove very difficult to match or find better. It should please most fans and collectors.
The Insert:  EXCELLENT(+) and arguably better still. A four page single folded paper insert with band picture and lyrics inside. Clean and fresh and barely creased, a small faint one on the top left corner tip area apart. Any handling crinkle to the paper very slight only, this will also prove hard to find better.
The Tour Programme:  VERY GOOD: this is a bonus item, but a real nice collector’s piece as it was for the tour for this actual album, and one of their last made in 1975/76. A 12-page book held together by two spine staples. This has clearly been handled more than the album (as concert programmes were). The front cover has rubbed a little on the right edge here-and there, but overall has aged little apart. No tearing, stains, writing, or hard creasing. Just a little natural crinkle of the paper simply by handling. For sure, quite a rare item that is a nice artefact to go with the actual album it promoted.
The Inner Sleeve:  VERY GOOD(+) a basic generic plain white unlined inner with the the text details: PATENT NO 1,125,555 MADE IN ENGLAND. Slightly darkened with considerable age, but minimal creasing or crinkle with no edge splits or repairs.
Vinyl Condition/Visual Grading:  EXCELLENT(+): arguably better, this being somewhat critical. A very impressive clean copy of this scarce album. Very clean, fresh with fine shine and solidly pressed. Any visual blemishes minimal, few and faint when scrutinised under bright light, a really lovely looking record appearing hardly played. One that should please many, if not most collectors.

Album Played For Grading:    Yes. This was play tested on my Linn LP12, Dynavector moving coil cartridge, Naim Supernait II amp and Spendor A7 speakers. It was a joy with little to fault. This being being a quite typical prog rock album with quiet passages that will always have the odd minor contact sound at very best. Also, Dawn Records were not always the most consistent for pressing quality as many collectors will know, but this one has no inherent pressing issues or unwanted flaws. A copy I really enjoyed.
Sound Quality and Audio Grading:  I doubt many copies will better this, without doubt hardly played and well pressed. If this scarce album eluded you years ago, a great opportunity as they seldom show up much better – and totally complete too.
