FRANCK, Cesar
SYMPHONY in D minor
Wilhelm Furtwaengler conducting the Vienna Philharmonic O
Concert performance, 1945 (??) Album's stated date is questionable.
Vox PL-7230 (1 12" mono vinyl LP) Black label. Columbia XTV matrix nos.
Record. V+/E-. Some light scratches, two abouut 1" long, mostly silent. A short one sounds 4-5 clicks. Otherwise clean surfaces.
Cover. E. Still bright green. Edgewear but seems intact. Minor soiling on back
Some pops, a couple loud, due to ageing vinyl. Clearly copied from lacquer discs or the like rather than a tape. A couple of notes are missing from an oboe solo in the 2d movement, presumably razor-bladed out by the original editor and common to all pressings. It's hard to tell which noises are from the record's scratches and which from those inherent in the original.
Shipping: $ 4 to the US; Elsewhere, calculated by buyer's location.
