URANIA  RECORDS,  INC.

WILHELM  FURTWANGLER
Conducting
THE  VIENNA  PHILHARMONIC  ORCHESTRA

BEETHOVEN
SYMPHONY  NO. 3 "EROICA"

This is a very rare original URANIA URLP 7095  MONO ONLY Beethoven: Symphony No. 3  In E Flat Major, Op. 55 "Eroica" conducted by Wilhelm Furtwangler with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Issued by Urania Records Incorporated of New York City in 1953. The disc is in EXCELLENT condition with light scratches, sound quality is excellent on both sides with no tic sounds. It's a Red Label pressing, the label is in MINT condition. This is the rarest Furtwangler and one of the rarest of all important records! The master tapes were destroyed or lost for this recording. John Ardoin in his "The Furtwangler Record' says that this is the greatest of his Eroica's, "it's fire is more warming". The album cover is very good condition it has a seam tear in the top and bottom, with edge and corner wear, some light stains, but still in very good shape being that it is 57 years old, IRDC is stamped in bold ink on the back cover upper left. It was recorded in Vienna, Austria, December 19 and 20, 1944.  It's rarity is based on the fact that right after it was issued Furtwangler legally stopped the sale of this recording and Urania had to pull them from the stores!  Deadwax information is impressed     URLP 7095 E3KP-4554-1A    URLP 7095 E3KP-4555-1B
