Wilhelm Furtwangler ...
Beethoven: Symphony No.9 in D minor, op.125 - 4.Satz
rare German first press vinyl LP released in the early 50s on red/gold ELECTROLA / HIS MASTERS VOICE label with catalognumber WALPS 1508. Collectors and audiophiles will know that this is a first press copy as it has the "SQUARE 33" on bottom label, plus this is the version with NO APPLAUSE at the end of the 4th set... Foldout cover with Furtwangler's signature on the inside, red 50s Polydor innersleeve provided by the Heidelberg record store (Wessendorf, Hauptstrasse 137) at the time, and vinyl all in perfect NEARMINT/MINT condition - best copy I have seen in many years!! Famous 1951 reference performance with Furtwangler conducting the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra & Chorus featuring Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Elisabeth Hongen, Hans Hopf, Otto Edelmann ... all recorded with stunning soundquality. Don't miss this perfect copy... see photo.
