Legendary live performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major, Op. 55 "Eroica", conducted by the iconic Wilhelm Furtwängler at the Musikvereinsaal in Vienna, recorded during the harrowing final years of World War II (December 19–20, 1944).

Rare LIGO Pressing – Highly Sought After by Collectors

This LIGO label pressing is one of the rarest editions of this monumental performance. Pressed in Riga before the Melodiya era, it belongs to the exclusive pre-Melodiya class of Soviet vinyl production. The unique label design and early GOST-56 standard (5289-56) make this a must-have for serious collectors of historical classical recordings and true vintage analog connoisseurs.

    CONDITION: 

    Record: VG 

    Plays with bit of background noise at the beginning, then settles into VG+ playback for most of the record. Some light crackle is present in quieter passages — a characteristic trait of Soviet-era pressings of this vintage. Visually, there are numerous sleeve marks visible under strong light, but nothing that impacts play significantly.  Overall, a very listenable and enjoyable copy of a legendary performance.
