12" 33 rpm URANIA URLP OOO1 (France, flat mono, 1955)
Wilhelm FURTWÄNGLER,
Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra,
December 1944, Vienna.
"EROICA" SYMPHONY
color=red>Same as Urania C 7095, this ultra-rare very first french
flat pressing, with no name of interpret, has a special
gatefold cover made of leather-like art paper, with shorter front leave
- stamped Napoléon imperial blazon on top left ! -,
still having its nice purple ribbon, which can easily be lost…
A MAJOR PIECE FOR ANY FURTWÄNGLER COLLECTOR,
SUPPRESSED EDITION, A TRUE RARITY !
This LP is N° 405 on unknown number issued.
The vinyl of this private edition is average, with common
"private pressing" little defects, described above, but the sound is
STRONG HEROIC MONO, A DRAMATIC EXPERIENCE.
RECORD CONDITION :
VG (has light surface scuffs, cosmetic traces from inner sleeve absolutely not sounding, few spindle nails on center ; the vinyl surface is LIGHTLY irregular by places, as private old pressings sometimes shows, from factory : the sound is slightly trembling and the vinyl slightly present by places - better to play it mono - ; light random ticks)
