Nice copy of Rick Nielsen’s and Tom Petterson’s band prior to forming CHEAP TRICK. Nielsen either wrote or co-wrote 5 of the LP’s 8 tracks.
From wikipedia: “Recorded with producer Jackie Mills in late 1968, the album was not as successful as the band or label hoped. According to Richie Unterberger of Allmusic, "The album is typical late-'60s hard rock recording. It looks forward to some facets of '70s metal and art rock in its stylized vocals, tandem hard rock guitar riffs, and classical-influenced keyboards."
From the cool ALLMUSIC web site: “Fuse's sole album gives Cheap Trick fans a glimpse of what Rick Nielsen and Tom Peterson were up to roughly five years before they formed the band for which they're famous. In Fuse, they and three other musicians played late-'60s hard rock, influenced by the Yardbirds and Cream, and perhaps a bit of Arthur Brown in the operatic vocals and classical-tinged keyboards, but with a Midwestern industriousness. Actually, it seems a little ahead of its time in how the songwriting, hard rock/organ combinations, long winding melodic progressions, and overly serious belting vocals of Joe Sundberg anticipate some early-'70s hard rock/prog rock crossover album."
