The Fabulous Apollos – ‘It Ain’t No Use’ / ‘It Ain’t No Use’ (Instrumental)’ – Valtone 102 (US)
The Fabulous Apollos cut four discs on Frank and Val Brown’s Valtone label out of Detroit. ‘Some Good In Everything Bad’ is the famous one – fame being relative, of course – and ‘The One Alone’ the rare one, though, in fact, all of them are top notch. And, judging from past sales on eBay, ‘It Ain’t No Use’ is pretty scarce, too (it’s the only one of theirs not playing on Youtube, for instance). Arranged by the legendary Mike Terry, who may be in there somewhere, it’s a great tune – give it a listen if you don’t know it. The record is in lovely shape, a top copy!Condition: Excellent; a little dust, that’s all (please listen to the clips). Clean labels (please see scans).
