To a Blind Horse is the third album by British rock group Faces, and their second album of 1971. Bolstered somewhat by lead singer Rod Stewart's recent solo success with "Maggie May", it was their most successful album worldwide, peaking at No. 6 in the US, and reaching No. 2 in the UK. It also contains their biggest US hit, the swaggering "Stay with Me" (No. 6 in the UK, No. 17 in the US), and the album itself would be certified gold by the RIAA in 1972. ## Information on 'Nods As Good As A Wink' Promos ## OK, here goes: "I don't think that I'm exaggerating when I refer to this, as one of the rarest copies of 'A Nod's As Good As A Wink' in existence... It's more than likely the only copy to exist! The only promos in Vinyl known to exist were released only in America & Germany. There are no German copies available on Discogs today, but there is a very long waiting list. There are a few US Promos available, still, one would need to spend over $100 to acquire a reasonable copy. Now, this Lebanese Promotional copy of 'A Nods As Good As A Wink' is not known to exist. There is no mention of it anywhere... please have a look yourselves, but there is nothing known about it. Released in 1971 in Lebanon during the worst of the hostilities endured during that particular Lebanon War. Only a few copies at most would have been made, and as a result very few copies would exist today & most likely..... THIS IS THE ONLY COPY IN THE ENTIRE WORLD! Background to Lebanese Promos generally, as well as 'Original Owner/Collector background information. " For those uninitiated with my eBay listings, these Lebanese Promos & Test Pressings that I have been selling bit by bit, are part of the private collection, of the once Head of A&R in Lebanon between the years 1966, through to 1974. He is known to me only as EJ & his amazing life story was recounted to me in great detail by his beloved daughter, a few years after his death. She was looking for an expert with the patience & time to find the most appropriate homes and destinations, for what she knew to be extremely rare, if not unique vinyl, which her father had taken so much trouble to keep safe, through all of that awful war in Lebanon during the late 1960's & 1970's.... & who would eventually bring his family & treasured vinyl collection safely out to Australia in 1978. He kept them very close, even in Australia, until his death, some time after which his daughter's & my paths crossed each other!! I have recently sold here on eBay his Led Zeppelin 'Houses of the Holy' Test Pressing, to one of the foremost Led Zeppelin collectors in the world, as well as his 'Led Zeppelin III' Black Label, which was purchased by a wonderful gentleman in Adelaide, Australia, who is currently having it professionally framed for display. So, I feel certain that EJ's daughter can sleep real well knowing that her father's work within the Lebanese Music Industry, is today adding so much valuable information to the history of Rock, whilst also providing untold happiness to many lucky individuals worldwide!!"
Condition Description The Vinyl looks like it's been played 2 or 3 times at most & I have described as Near Mint. It has the French stamp on both labels indicating 'Not For Sale' & on Side B, EJ has initialled in purple. The Original white generic cover from Lebanon will be included, but it's in bad shape. I will also include a Card Generic Cover in Excellent Condition. This release in Lebanon was with Generic Cover as most Promos were during the late sixties/early seventies due to war conditions.
